Western Digital recently launched its SanDisk Extreme PRO portable SSDs, which is purpose-built to keep up with today's high-quality content demands.
This new and slim portable storage is targeted at professional photographers, videographers and enthusiasts.
Design-wise, the SanDisk Extreme Pro Portable SSD has a slim body with a rubberised body which is nice to hold. It also has a loop at the top to secure it via a carrying clip.
It has a forged aluminum chassis made to stay cool under the pressure of a heavy workload. However, I did feel some heat from the device after a long active usage, like transfering gigabytes of data.
In terms of transferring speed, this storage is really fast.
If you are uisng a Thunderbolt 3 port, you'll get the best performance. Its NVMe solid state performance features up to 2,000 Mbps read and up to 2,000 Mbps write speeds.
Besides that, for security, Western Digital has built it with SanDisk's SecureAccess software, which lets you create a secure space on your drive to lock files and folders behind a password.
Western Digital claims that the device can withstand ua p to two-metre drop and has an IP55 rating, making it tough enough to take on any adventure. It's compatible with PC and Mac, and is priced at RM1,499 (1TB) and RM2,599 (2TB).
