Swarovski turns swan heads into love emblem

FOR the longest time, swans have come to symbolise love, especially when their heads come together as a couple, with their slender necks forming a heart shape.

This image is said to reflect the meeting of two soulmates — not the kind of twin flames like Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly, obviously — and it has inspired greeting cards and wedding decorations for ages.

This year, for Valentine's Day, crystal brand Swarovski is taking that image literally and transforming it into attractive accessories that talk about love, without being cliched.

Crafted for its Una collection, the brand, which has the graceful animal as its symbol, says the pieces are for Feb 14 and beyond.

The brand says it celebrates the radiance of love all year round with pieces created to catch hearts and turn heads.

"We believe that modern romance deserves a modern memento, so we crafted the Una family with fabulous designs," it says.

HEART-SHAPED

Built around the gentle heart shape created when swans greet, the Swarovski Swan transforms into a stunning symbol of forever as part of the new product family.

Designed as a symbol of unity — not just for a day, but for eternity — this tribute breathes new life into the Swarovski's brand logo.

Creative director Giovanna Engelbert says the heart, being the universal symbol for love, is the perfect representation of the swan.

"Reflecting itself but standing also for the love for our beloved ones and ourselves, I wanted to create something really cool," she says.

Featuring pendants, chokers, earrings and bracelets, and created from skilled craftsmanship, the brand says the collection is made "with a lot of love, a dash of passion and a sprinkle of forever".
