SINGAPORE: Award-winning Korean-American hip hop star Jay Park says he will be a tough judge to please when Asia's Got Talent returns on AXN (Astro channel 701) in October.
The 30-year-old artiste whose real name is Park Jae-beom, is the latest addition to the Asian edition of the reality talent show which is set to return for a second season.
Park will be joining Grammy-winner music producer David Foster and Indonesian-born Anggun Cipta Sasmi, who are both returning as judges.
"I will set a high standard for the participants and I expect this to be a very exciting outing for me too.
"As this show is not just about singing and dancing, which I'm familiar with, it will be one show which will definitely be interesting for me to witness and judge," said Park at a press conference to announce the judges and hosts for the show.
Above all, he expects to be pleasantly surprised by the contestants, especially from the beatboxers and magicians.
Asked on the differences between Asian and Western talents, Park admitted that back then, the gap was obvious but it is no longer the case now as many Asian talents have been making waves around the globe in recent times.
Of course, Park himself is an example of this, as only last week, he officially joined the likes of Rihanna and Shakira, to be signed under Jay Z's management, Roc Nation.
After leaving his popular K-pop group 2PM in 2010, the multi-talented Park went on a solo journey to become a big star in the hip-hop and R&B scene.
His YouTube channel has recorded nearly 200 million total views, featuring hits like Mommae and You Know.
