#SHOWBIZ: Lan Pet Pet aspires to compete on 'Asia's Got Talent'

KUALA LUMPUR: Mazlan Ahmad, better known as Lan Pet Pet from the comedy group Senario, recently revealed his wish to participate in the international reality show Asia's Got Talent.

The 55-year-old comedian expressed that he has held this dream since the show's debut in 2015.

However, his initial attempt was thwarted by a late arrival at the auditions.

"Before I pass on, I want to try my luck on Asia's Got Talent," Lan told BH Online.

"In 2015, I nearly made it, but I arrived too late. This time, I want to showcase a unique talent – creating various sounds using just my voice.

"I'll do my best to make Malaysia proud, just like the late Datuk Sudirman Arshad, who was celebrated as Asia's No.1 Entertainer," he said.

Lan's aspirations came to light at a recent event held to celebrate Senario's victory at the 36th Anugerah Bintang Popular BH (ABPBH) awards.

The gathering, which included a tahlil for his late father, was held at the Al Maliki Hotel and Restaurant in Puncak Alam, Selangor.

Reflecting on his career, Lan shared that his primary focus now is on deepening his faith and seeking spiritual fulfillment after over 30 years in the entertainment industry.

Despite the ups and downs, he feels blessed by the ongoing support from fans, particularly after Senario's recent win.

"We didn't expect fans would still support us by voting for Senario.

"While I'm grateful, praise makes me uneasy. That's why I invited the audience to berselawat when I received the award," he said.

Lan also revealed his desire to move to Medina if possible, to strengthen his connection with Allah and the Prophet Muhammad.

"I am now looking to find my way in the right path to the afterlife and grow closer to my faith."
