KUALA LUMPUR: It's inspiring to learn that the increasingly-popular singer Wany Hasrita has plans to further her education in medical science.
However, that's not going to happen anytime soon.
The Menahan Rindu singer is focused on her fast-growing singing career right now that she has no choice but to put her studies on the back burner.
"Pursuing my Masters has always been in the pipeline, but I am unable to focus on two major things at the same time.
"So I've decided to put my singing career as priority," said the artiste in a news report recently.
But don't judge her yet as she has good reasons why she has chosen her career over her studies.
Admitting that it was a difficult decision to make, the 24-year-old Kuala Lumpur native whose full name is Nursyazwany Hasrita Hasbullah, felt that it was the most ideal choice for her right now considering the overwhelming reception she has been getting in showbiz.
"I signed with the recording label FMC Music while I was still in my final year of studies. And I'm blessed that singing offers continued to pour in," said the Management & Science University graduate.
And the endless opportunities her singing career may bring is also beneficial towards her future education, as she will have earned enough to pay for her own tuition.
"The Medical Science course that I plan to take will put me back some RM10,000 per semester at the local university. That's why I think it's better that I start my education fund from my singing gigs, so that I will be able to cover the cost when the time comes for me to pursue my studies," said Wany who was first discovered in 2012 via the mobile application Smule.
