Dayang Nurfaizah unfazed by remarks by fans of Indonesian singer Isyana

KUALA LUMPUR: Award-winning singer Dayang Nurfaizah has brushed aside negative remarks made against her by fans of Indonesian pop star Isyana Sarasvati following her win at the recent Anugerah Planet Muzik 2017 (APM2017) in Singapore, last week.

Shortly after Dayang won Best Female Artiste at the awards, several fans of Isyana expressed disappointment that their favourite singer did not win, and vented their anger at Dayang in and outside the venue.

"I learnt of these negative comments from my manager and recording company Indigital," said Dayang when interviewed by Harian Metro recently.

"Isyana's fans were probably unhappy that she didn't win. It's only natural, and I'm not bothered by them."

Dayang also said fans of any singer ought to realise that judging in major competitions was conducted by a professional jury, with wide experience, and it was thus of international standards.

"I'm glad they're not attacking me on social media, and are merely talking amongst themselves. I'm also happy to have fans from Indonesia who are appreciative of my music all this while."

Dayang also won Best Malaysian Song for Lelaki Teragung.
