KUALA LUMPUR: The new TV drama Red Velvet, which stars Alif Satar and Neelofa, has been garnering lots of heat for both positive and negative reasons.
Based on the novel written by Acik Lana, the popular series had seen Netizens criticising Neelofa’s acting, labelling her performance as wooden, while hailing Alif’s presence as the best thing in the drama and its saviour.
In a recent news report, the handsome 27-year-old KLite was modest about viewer reactions and laid the success of the drama on teamwork.
“Of course I’m proud that there are people who think so but I don’t see it as a personal victory. It’s more of a team effort. For me, the success of a drama comes from the hard work of the whole production team. We all give it our very best and that goes for all the actors involved as well,” he said.
The actor, singer and TV host added that whatever successes he had achieved throughout his 11-year career were attributed to team effort.
He also leveled praise on Neelofa despite the amount of criticism she had received so far.
“I act alongside Neelofa, so I know how hard she works to portray the role she carries. I’m impressed by her ability to give her full commitment to the drama despite her busy schedule filled with other work,” he said.
Alif added that the two of them were well suited onscreen and that he felt comfortable working with her.
“What I can say is that this role really challenges her as an actress. I personally think she has succeeded in bringing the character to life as required by the director. She is not acting that way on purpose or just for fun,” he said.
