KUALA LUMPUR: In every time and place, there are bound to be “haters”, or as popular actor Fattah Amin says, people who have “perasaan hasad dengki” or deep-rooted jealousy.
The Most Popular Artiste of Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian 3.0 (ABPBH 3.0) is always hurt by such toxic people, who have poured scorn on his career and spewed venom at his courtship with actress Nur Fazura Sharifuddin.
Even when the couple dubbed “Fattzura” tied the knot on Monday night in a private ceremony in Kuala Lumpur, detractors continued their merciless insults.
But Fattah is keeping cool, for he has learnt to brush them aside, as he does to insects on his shoulders.
“I do feel sad and hurt with insults from selfish people. However, I don’t hate them, I forgive since my parents always tell me it’s not good to have grudges,” said Fattah at a ceremony to receive his ABPBH 3.0 prize - a Peugeot 408 e-THP car sponsored by the Naza Group at Balai Berita. Fattah told the press that he will give the car to his parents.
The ceremony attended by Berita Harian executive editor (news, features and digital) Datuk Ahmad Zaini Kamaruzaman, Nasim Sdn Bhd senior general manager Yasser Awan, and Berita Harian entertainment editor Shamshul Azree Samshir was held in Balai Berita, Jalan Riong, Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
Fattah said he chose to forgive individuals who insulted him, as their “black-hearted” behaviour was the result of personal insecurities and problems.
“I just pray they will see the light and change their ways - it’s bad for spiritual and physical health to ridicule others.”
Insults aside, Fattah said he felt like the “luckiest man in the world” this year - winning two entertainment awards namely Anugerah Top Top MeleTop Era 2017 and ABPBH 3.0 as well as marrying Fazura.
“I want to thank all my fans and friends for supporting me these four years in showbiz. I’m sorry we conducted our marriage so quickly, but it was the decision of our families,” he said.
Fattah also said he and Fazura promised to have two wedding receptions in the first quarter of next year - for fans and media friends.
