KUALA LUMPUR: For the first time ever, the South Korean affiliate of Instagram will be giving out awards to its most-loved artistes of 2017.
According to a news report by allkpop, singer, rapper and record producer G-Dragon is awarded for having the most followers, totaling more than 15.1 followers.
The South Korean group BigBang leader will also receive an award for having the highest number of likes and comments for posts shared throughout the year.
Also in the Top 10 list of most-followed Instagram accounts are K-Pop group EXO members Chanyeol, Sehun and Baekhyun; Girls’ Generation member Taeyeon, actors Lee Jong-suk and Nam Joo-hyuk, BigBang members T.O.P and Taeyang and actress Lee Sung-kyung (listed in order).
Meanwhile, accounts with the most-viewed Instagram Stories are by (listed in order) former Girls’ Generation member Jessica Jung; Taeyeon; hip-hop singer Jessi, Girls’ Generation member Sooyoung and rapper Dok2.
The photo and video with the most likes were posted by Chanyeol, with 1,639,092 and 2,968,741 likes, respectively.
Boy group JBJ member Kwon Hyun-bin earns Most Grown Award for having the account with the fastest growth rate this year in terms of garnering followers.
Instagram South Korea will deliver the trophies, in the shape of the Instagram logo, to the award recipients soon.
