KUALA LUMPUR: They say a bad review can badly damage your self esteem.
Cosmetics entrepreneur-turned-singer-turned-actor Datuk Seri Aliff Syukri Kamarzaman must be feeling down lately when his film acting debut as titular character of Badang, has been given the thumbs down by Netizens.
The 30-year-old recently uploaded videos of himself asking his critics what he did to receive such torrential criticism.
“It hurts listening to all the brickbats thrown at me. I wake up in the morning and I don't feel at peace. As soon as I wake up, I feel hurt. What did I do wrong?" he said.
Aliff went on to say how hard he had worked for the movie and the public should be appreciative of his hard work.
He also claimed that the movie is the “best film and artwork" which is comparable to other films, and even surpassed Marvel’s Black Panther.
“You haven't even seen my film but you are already bashing it.
“If you were in my position, how would you feel? My patience has its limits, don't go overboard," said the millionaire founder of D'Herbs Healthy Sdn Bhd.
Aliff then uploaded a photo of him in the green suit he wore as the superhero Badang in the movie on his Instagram with a caption that read: “For those who have seen the movie Badang, please share your comments. Those who haven’t, please be quiet. I’m the saviour of the world #badang... which part of in the movie which you guys like most?).
One @zxynhusin sarcastically responded: “The ending part”, while @mizzusomething said: “The best part is when I bought tickets to Black Panther instead of Badang.”
Meanwhile @adam.tajudin questioned why instead of looking like a hero, Badang actually looked like an alien.
Many who commented gave a negative take to the movie. Some even suggested that Aliff should just stick to being an entrepreneur.
Badang, a comedy/fantasy film directed by Datuk Prof A. Razak Mohaideen did not augur well with moviegoers who generally gave unflattering reviews for its storyline, visual effects and Aliff as the choice for its lead actor.
Badang is currently showing in cinemas.
