#Showbiz: Heart-wrenching outpouring by girlfriend of gone-too-soon Emy AF 2016

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Akademi Fantasia 2016 contestant Zharul Hilmi Badrul Hisam, better known as Emy, died in a tragic road accident on Tuesday. Family and friends were naturally shocked by his sudden passing.

His still-grieving girlfriend, Cathy Alkantara, posted a heart-breaking entry on her Facebook account yesterday.

She wrote: “You are the best man that I’ve even known. Never rough, respectful of others, a giving and generous heart, helpful to others, never calculative and a good person.”

She added: “When you were alive, you always took good care of me and made sure I ate well. Even when unwell you would send food over from afar. You never stopped loving me right till the very end.

Even when you achieved one success after another, you were always humble.”

Her heartfelt outpouring was made even more poignant when she revealed that he had been talking about getting engaged to her just before his untimely passing.

“I never asked for anything but you were always a giving soul, sometimes even making me feel bad. What’s most sad is that you left me before we could get engaged. After all the many plans you had for our future together, right down to your thoughts on our future kids. And a day before you left, you promised we’d meet to manage the details of our engagement.”

Cathy had also asked for people to pray for him, and added that: “God has taught me the meaning of life and death. I pray that he will be in God’s good grace on the other side.”

She ended her sombre post with: “I will always love you till my last breath. You will always be in my heart. Nothing is more painful than a never-ending loss.”

Those who had replied to her post had only words of encouragement for her to be strong and to leave everything in God’s hands.

Emy was killed on the spot after he lost control of his high-powered motorcycle at the corner of a hilly road and crashed into an oncoming lorry near Kampung Kelawat in Tuaran, Sabah.

An active musician with the busker group, Buska Basker, Emy’s remains were laid to rest at the Kampung Simpangan Tuaran cemetery this morning. He was 25.
