#Showbiz: Worldwide exposure for Saladin TV series

KUALA LUMPUR: Children worldwide will be able to watch popular local animation series ‘Saladin’ via an agreement between Primeworks Studios and online on-demand streaming platform Ali Huda.

The recently inked deal is a first for Primeworks Studios, the official distributor of “Saladin”, with Ali Huda, which caters exclusively to Muslim children globally.

The popular Emmy-nominated animated show is amongst a number of animated series that Primeworks Studios represents.

“As one of the leading production houses in South East Asia, Primeworks’ content library is extensive. However, we believe that there is an abundance of quality regional content in the market that have yet to reach its relevant platforms. We could not be happier to be in the business of building a bridge to drive that content to international platforms such as Ali Huda,” said Datuk Ahmad Izham Omar, chief executive officer of Primeworks Studios.

Inspired by the life of medieval statesman and warrior, Salah al-Din Yusuf Ibn Ayyub, the animation chronicles a fictional period in his life as a young adventurer.

“Saladin,” which originally aired in 2010 on RTM, received a nomination at the International Emmy’s in 2011.

It will now be amongst the hundreds of children’s shows available on Ali Huda.

“We are constantly on the look-out for quality content that is able to entertain and educate children about Islam in a fun way and we are happy to work with Primeworks Studios to add Saladin to the list of titles on our platform,” added Ali Huda chief executive officer Maruf Yusupov.
