KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian actor Henry Golding has just fulfilled one of his dreams - meeting acclaimed American talk show host Ellen DeGeneres in The Ellen Show.
Golding, 31, described his recent experience as “truly surreal” in an Instagram post yesterday, elaborating that his appearance on the show was specially to promote his film Crazy Rich Asians.
He was joined by actress Constance Wu, who also appears in the film.
“What a crazy, crazy experience. Just insane! Bursting out with the full trailer Monday morning Pacific time. Spread the word!” he said in his post yesterday.
Golding also posted a photo on Instagram showing him outside the artiste entry of the Warner Brothers Entertainment studio where DeGeneres' show was filmed. “There’s something brewing on the @warnerbrosentertainment lot with @theellenshow and @crazyrichasians, stay tuned!” he said.
Crazy Rich Asians will be screened on Aug 17, and is adapted from Jon M. Chu’s novel of the same name.
The actor of Iban and British descent from Sarawak was formerly a host on talk show The 8TV Quickie, and documentaries Welcome To The Railworld Japan (8TV) and Surviving Borneo (Discovery Channel Asia).
He is also set to appear in the film Monsoon directed by Hong Khaou; and Paul Feig’s A Simple Favour.
A Simple Favour, which also stars Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick will be screened on Sept 14.
