#Showbiz: BTS gets second invite to Ellen DeGeneres Show

KUALA LUMPUR: K-Pop giants BTS set a South Korean record six months ago becoming the first artistes from their country to be interviewed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

They are now set to create another record for South Korea, for appearing on popular host DeGeneres’ show twice.

Entertainment website Soompi reported yesterday that BTS was chosen by DeGeneres and producers as part of her show’s “May Sweeps Month” campaign, alongside several other influential entertainers from the United States.

They included Justin Timberlake and pop groups NSYNC and Maroon 5.

The show’s executive producer Andy Lassner confirmed BTS’ coming appearance on Twitter, and the good news has been shared by the K-Pop stars’ fans known as ARMYs.

BTS’ agency Big Hit Entertainment also confirmed their appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, but declined to reveal the date of their interview.

Soompi however revealed that BTS will meet DeGeneres on May 25 to promote their new album Love Yourself: Tear. They will also perform their hit song Fake Love, just as they sang Mic Drop last November.

BTS will also sing at the Billboard Music Awards 2018 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas on May 20.
