#Showbiz: Actress Sangeeta to pursue studies at New York Film Academy next year

KUALA LUMPUR: After securing a scholarship from the National Film Development Corporation (Finas), award-winning actress Sangeeta Krishnasamy is excited to further her studies in the United States next year.

“I will enrol in scriptwriting and film production course at the New York Film Academy,” said the 33-year-old artiste in a recent news report.

She added that she had chosen the course to prepare herself to become a scriptwriter and film producer in the near future.

“I do hope I’ll be able to produce my own films someday. The ability to write good film scripts is a bonus towards achieving this long-term goal,” she said.

The University of London law graduate started acting in 2009, in a Kollywood production titled Goa.

She caught the attention of Malaysian mainstream movie audiences after winning Best Actress at the 29th Malaysian Film Festival last year for her role as Cikgu Cheryl in Eric Ong’s biopic Adiwiraku.
