KUALA LUMPUR: Celebrity transformations serve us a great reminder that they are also regular people who weren’t born perfect.
Sporting a spiky hairdo and braces in a throwback photo on Instagram recently, popular TV host, singer and actor Alif Satar looked every bit like any normal teenager going through that “awkward phase” in life.
While many are quick to judge celebrities for investing a substantial amount of money to transform their physical appearance, Alif however, begged to differ.
“A lot of people commented on this photo by saying “it’s not that you weren’t good looking, you were just broke”... but let me tell ya, money only probably had 10% of this change,” he wrote in the caption.
The 28-year-old artiste lamented that everyone goes through a phase of self-discovery while battling with low self-esteem but money is definitely not the answer to everything.
“It’s not the money that is going to help you be better, it’s the drive, your connection to Him and your will to change to be better, are the true factors that define who you are,” he wrote.
Alif advises those going through such a phase to soldier on and search for inner peace as well as happiness.
“I pray for each and everyone of you a positive change.. just like me,” he wrote.
Fans and followers expressed their appreciation towards his post, with many saying his words have inspired them to have a positive outlook in life.
Meanwhile, many fellow celebrities like Janna Nick and Singapore actress Atikah Suhaime poked fun at Alif’s younger appearance and likened his hairstyle to that of Goku, the main protagonist of the Dragon Ball animation series.
