KUALA LUMPUR: Lisa of popular K-Pop group BlackPink was recently announced as the muse for Hedi Slimane, the new artistic, creative and image director for luxury brand Celine.
Looks like the idol who got shamed by online haters recently for the outfit she wore during the Golden Disk Awards in Seoul has the last laugh.
The sourpuss Netizens who then insulted her heritage by calling her an average-looking Thai girl under Korean makeup also got their comeuppance after fans rallied behind the talented and bubbly star by starting the #RespectLisa campaign.
According to Koreaboo, Dazed Korea magazine revealed two of its stunning covers yesterday for its February issue which featured Lisa. She is apparently the first model for Slimane’s Celine cover.
The famous French fahsion photographer and designer was former creative director for Dior Homme and Yves Saint Laurent.
So kudos to Lisa, who is no stranger to the world of modelling, having modeled for various magazines and brands such as YG’s NONA9ON for Vogue.
Speaking of the influential fashion and lifestyle magazine, Koreaboo also reported that British Vogue had recently published an article that named BlackPink, as well as other K-Pop luminaries, such as BTS and EXO, as fashion icons to watch.
This was with regards to the upcoming fashion week, where Vogue highlighted a series of K-Pop idols who were stealing the fashion spotlight.
Apparently, BlackPink topped the list with the quartet’s unique look and head-turning style, which is something that fans would already be aware of.
