KUALA LUMPUR: Korean musician and actor Jung Ji-hoon or Rain is keeping his baby daughter out of the public spotlight, for her own safety and well-being.
Korea Times reported today that the Full House star recently told media outlet Osen, that the world had become “too scary to live in”.
“Previously I thought it was possible to talk about my family joyously,” he said.
But now, if I told the public about my child and bragged about how happily we live, those things will somehow come back to haunt me. I will build a wall between my family and my job.”
Rain, 37, added that he “did not want his family to get hurt” and had become “watchful over talking about family openly”.
The star of 2008 action film Speed Racer and 2009’s Ninja Assassin admitted that he lost his temper whenever he saw others intruding his privacy.
Rain, who is currently starring in the historical film Um Bok-Dong about a real-life Korean cyclist, is happily married to actress Kim Tae-hee in 2017, and welcomed their first child that same year.
Their second baby is expected to arrive in September.
Rain has had seven albums in Korean and Japanese since 2002 and achieved breakthrough success with his third album It’s Raining in 2004.
He made his acting debut in the 2003 drama Sang Doo! Let’s Go To School. His lead role in the hit drama Full House (2004) made him a household name.
