KUALA LUMPUR: “I’m truly sorry for causing concern due to the recent event,” said South Korean actress and singer Goo Hara after giving fans a shock recently when it was reported that she had allegedly attempted to take her own life.
According to Soompi, it was reported that Japanese news outlets had shared a brief statement from the star via her representative with regards to the incident.
The 28-year-old former member of K-Pop girl group Kara, who is now in stable condition in a hospital, apparently said: “I am currently recovering my health. I was feeling distressed due to various incidents that had piled up.”
She added: “I will try my best to show a healthy side of myself by having a stronger mindset. I am truly sorry about the recent incident.”
It was reported on Sunday that Goo Hara had, on the previous night, attempted suicide inside her home in Seoul.
She was found unconscious in a room filled with smoke by her manager and was immediately rushed to the hospital.
Her manager had revealed, in a previous report, that the celebrity was currently battling with depression.
