#Showbiz: 'It's laughable' — Alif Satar on criticisms by some BTS fans

KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Alif Satar could only laugh off the crticisms hurled at him by some hardcore fans of super popular South Korean band BTS.

With a clean record since becoming a singer and actor at a young age, the 29-year-old said that the recent “attack” by certain fanatic fans of BTS was just laughable.

“It’s funny because the song Boy With Luv is indeed originally performed by eight people, not just the seven members of the South Korean band.

“It was the band’s collaboration with Halsey. BTS plus Halsey make eight people altogether. So who’s wrong here?” said Alif when met at the press conference for Alif Satar and Raihan’s Countless Blessing Charity Concert, held at Al-Amar Lebanese Cuisine Restaurant here today.

However, Alif also said that some BTS fans sided with him, realising that there was no reason for fans to be overly sensitive or fanatical about their favourite idols.

“I hope music fans won’t be too fanatical or sensitive when it comes to their favourite artistes. After all, at the end of the day, it’s just entertainment. You won’t bring all these with you in your afterlife.

Last weekend, he became the target or criticisms when hosting an episode of TV programme Big Stage. He mentioned that the song Boy With Luv was originally performed by eight people, making some quarters to jump at him and reminding him that BTS only comprised of seven members, clearly forgetting about the American singer-songwriter who collaborated with BTS in recording the song.
