KUALA LUMPUR: The National Film Development Corporation's (Finas) chief executive officer Ahmad Idham Ahmad Nadzri will only be holding his post for a year, instead of two.
Instead of serving the corporation until March 14, 2021, his last day at work will be on March 10, next year.
A statement from Finas today said that the corporation's board of directors had received and approved Ahmad Idham's request to shorten his term of office for personal reasons.
The statement also said that Finas thanked Ahmad Idham for his services to the corporation and wished him all the best in his work.
Ahmad Idham could not be reached for comment.
The 45-year-old actor and director was appointed as Finas' chief executive officer on March 14 for a two-year term.
Earlier, talk was rife that Ahmad Idham had been advised to take a three-month leave.
He said that he was prepared to willingly accept any decision made, adding that when he first assumed the position, it had always been his intention to assist the entertainment industry.
“I didn’t apply for this job, it was offered to me. Therefore, I accept whatever decision made,” he said.
