KUALA LUMPUR: The younger brother of actress and TV host Yana Samsudin, who had recently become a father, died yesterday. He was 29.
Yana, 35, who shared the sad news on her Instagram account last night, said that her brother, Muhammad Fahmi Harith Samsudin, had died in his sleep.
She added that her loss was made even more poignant since her beloved sibling had just become a father 37 days ago after being married for three years.
“I have lost my brother today. Oh God, give me strength. The only man among my siblings who just became a dad 37 days ago.” Yana, who grew up in Yong Peng, Johor, said: “He told me he wanted to go home to Yong Peng this week to celebrate his birthday. Looks like you’re right about me bringing you back home. We’ll see emak and abah and all soon, alright?”
Her brother would have turned 30 on Saturday. She added: “You were someone who made it easy for everyone else. If there was a problem, you were quiet. And if there wasn’t a problem, you were also quiet.”
The star of the Adnan Sempit movies said that she was really saddened by the fact that he had died alone at home and that there was no opportunity for any last words to be spoken to him.
Yana, a mother of one, also pleaded in her entry, for people who had known her brother to forgive any of his sins or wrongdoings towards them.
Her post received over 1,270 comments from friends, fans and Netizens who showered her with their condolences and encouragement for her to stay strong.
So far, no cause of death has been revealed. In a corresponding post, Yana said that her dearly departed brother’s body would be ferried today from the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang to their family home in Yong Peng before being put to rest at the River Estet Masjid Besar Muslim cemetery.
Yana, who is of Malay, Java and Bidayuh descent, is the third child out of five of Samsudin Jamuri from Yong Peng and Suhaily Abdullah from Serian, Sarawak.
