#Showbiz: MCO: 11 singers unite to raise funds

KUALA LUMPUR: Popular singer Liza Hanim has collaborated with 10 other artstes through the Sing For Fund charity programme in order to help those negatively affected by the Movement Control Order (MCO).

Organised by Liza's company LS Media in partnership with Live Frame, the initiative features music performances that can be viewed at www.liveframe.my from now till May 7.

Aside from Liza, the other entertainers involved are Aishah, Siti Nordiana, Ernie Zakri, Syamel, Haiza, Idayu, Lan Solo, Han Byul, Kai and Dini.

In a recent news report, she said: "We've setup a specific website featuring each singer performing two songs that were recorded from their respective homes.

"The public can be entertained by all of the performances and donate a minimum of RM5. It would be great if they can donate more but it's entirely up to them. The details on how to do so can be found on the website.

"This is just a small contribution on our part. The biggest contributors will be the public who login to catch our performances. I hope that what we're doing will give some relief to those in need during this challenging period.

"We will be working with charity organisations to help us distribute the donations to the deserving individuals and families.

"I am very thankful to my fellow artistes who were willing to work with me for free without any payment or token. They have been very gracious," she said.

Liza, who had recently released her single Tiada, added that once the contributions had been collected the artists will try to hand out the contributions personally.

"But if we can't, then we'll leave it to charity bodies. We will be sharing who the recipients are on social media. I sincerely hope that fans and the public will contribute to this charity programme," she said.
