#Showbiz: Ammar Alfian allowed to seize and sell RM500k assets of Guardian Fitness

SHAH ALAM: Actor Ammar Alfian Aziz has successfully filed a writ of seizure and sale for RM500,000 worth of assets from the premises of Guardian Fitness, which failed to pay him damages last February.

Ammar's spokesman Saiful Ridzuan of Saiful Ridzuan Public Relations and Communications said in a statement today that the assets would be sold in 14 days if the fitness company failed to pay up.

On Feb 24, Ammar, 33, won more than RM500,000 in a fraud and misrepresentation lawsuit against the company.

The Shah Alam Sessions Court ruled in favour of Ammar and ordered Guardian Fitness to pay half a million ringgit for damages plus interest and court costs to the actor.

Last year, Ammar sued Guardian Fitness, alleging that the company had invited him to invest in over RM400,000 in return for a 30 per cent equity.

He entered into a business agreement in 2016 through invitation by one of the directors of Guardian Fitness, Lee Chung Howe.

Ammar believed that the company had fabricated its profit and loss statement to get him to invest in it.

The 30 per cent shares paid by the actor were for a minority stake of a 744-square metre Anytime Fitness gymnasium in Menara Hap Seng 2, Jalan P. Ramlee, Kuala Lumpur.

Ammar's lawyer Nurul Hafidzah Hassan of NHA Advocates And Solicitors said that the actor's application was in accordance with the law and crucial for him to get his money back.

"It is important for our client Ammar Alfian to get back the money which he invested as well as the legal costs, after Guardian Fitness failed to pay judgement," said Nurul who was assisted by lawyer Zeti Zulkifli.

Ammar has been acting since 2008 and his best known films include KL Gangster 2, Showdown The Movie, Langit Cinta and Paskal.

His best known television dramas include Tari Tirana, Sahara, Musim Cinta Belum Berlalu, Nasuha, Syurga Nur and Hello Mr Perfect.
