KUALA LUMPUR: Fans expressed sympathy and offered consolation to popular TV host and comedian Sherry Alhadad when it was revealed that their idol had experienced heartbreak over a failed relationship due to a third person.
Actress Datin Marlia Musa who is also Sherry's former drama teacher inadvertently revealed this via her posting on Instagram to wish her a happy 36th birthday.
The wife of music maestro Datuk M. Nasir wrote: "I knew her since she was 19, when she came for an audition to join my class at the National Academy of Arts, Culture and Heritage (Aswara).
"From that session, I could tell that this is one confident girl who could go far, with that positive attitude and high spirits," she said.
Marlia also added that a few years later she realised Sherry was avoiding her.
"Apparently, at the time she was getting over a break up. Her romance came to end due to the presence of a third person. I confronted her and we ended up crying.
"Today, I pray that she continues to work hard to achieve her dreams and to carry on making her mother happy. I also hope that one day she will find her true love, one who will accept her and her mother. Happy birthday."
Sherry who was recently voted Popular Comedian and Popular TV Host at the 33rd Anugerah Bintang Popular BH (ABPBH33), re-posted the entry with a message to Marlia that read: "I cried reading your message. You've always been there for me... Thank you God for bringing such a wonderful person into my life."
