KUALA LUMPUR: London-based actor Stephen Rahman-Hughes, 51, and wife of 11 years, dancer-choreographer Anjali Mehra will be welcoming a new family member soon.

Widely recognised as Hang Tuah from the award-winning stage musical Puteri Gunung Ledang The Musical and as Merong in the local epic feature Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa, Rahman-Hughes took to Instagram yesterday to share the wonderful news.

The British artiste who is of Malay-Welsh parentage shared an image of an ultrasound scan photo of his little one with a caption that read: "Hi all. I have been resisting posting about this with the apprehensions that come along with pregnancy.

"It is now out there so here is our (@anjalimehra & me) little lady. I am overjoyed and am totally elated to be entering #fatherhood.

"Anj has been just brilliant although the 1st trimester came with all it's challenges at full force. It's been amazing watching her grow another human," he said.

He added: "I am full of admiration and love for her and am already head over heels with this little human about to change us forever. The advice, wisdom and support from friends has been cherished and appreciated beyond words so far.

"Thank you so much. We keep fingers crossed for the continued amazement and healthy development of our baby. Thanks for such wonderful messages so far. Much love to all."

Rahman-Hughes however did not disclose when the baby girl is due.

The two married in Tuscany, Italy in 2010.
