#Showbiz: 'Ejen Ali' launches new multiplayer mobile game to excite fans

KUALA LUMPUR: Experience the fun of playing Ejen Ali and his heroic friends during the lockdown period with the new mobile game, Ejen Ali: Agents' Arena.

Based on the popular animated TV series and hit movie, Ejen Ali: Agents' Arena is the latest addition to the popular Ejen Ali mobile games franchise first introduced in 2016 (Ejen Ali: MATA Training Academy and Ejen Ali: Emergency).

The 100 per cent Malaysian-made game was officially launched yesterday by REV Media Group, Primeworks Studios and WAU Animation and is available for mobile devices on the Google Playstore and Apple App Store.

Since its release for beta users in April, Agents' Arena has scored over 320,000 downloads and boasts over 70,000 monthly active users (MAU).

To date, the Ejen Ali mobile game franchise has accumulated over 3.7 million downloads and 201,000 monthly active users (MAU).

Developed by REV Media Group, Ejen Ali: Agents' Arena is the first multiplayer game created in partnership with a Malaysian animation intellectual property (IP).

In the style of a battle arena casual game, players assemble in a team of three and each control a heroic character to compete against another team of three players or AI bots.

The objective of each battle is to defeat the opposing team and capture three key zones in the game map, and the first team to reach 100 points wins the battle.

In this first round of release, players are able to choose between six key characters that originally appeared in the TV series, namely Ejen Ali, Ejen Alicia, Ejen Rudy, Ejen Khai, Ejen Roza and Ejen Mika.

Each character is equipped with unique attacks and ultimate skills that will greatly vary the strategy and gameplay outcomes during battles.

The game is expected to be expanded with new characters, costumes and maps at a later date.

Agents' Arena aims to inculcate good values like teamwork, discipline and strategic thinking among players, making it a suitable leisure activity for youths and kids.

Parents can also rest assured about the appropriateness of the mobile game for their kids as Agents' Arena was designed to be completely brand-safe for the younger audience by excluding all types of violent content, overtly sexy outfits or strong language.

"Ejen Ali: Agents' Arena is designed as a fun mobile game for the whole family with a special focus on players aged 14 and above.

"It's no secret that we want to create a highly engaging experience for Ejen Ali's loyal fanbase, but with Agents' Arena we want to go further and tap into the large segment of mobile gamers who love the multiplayer online battle arena and third-person hero shooter video game genres, and the rich story universe of Ejen Ali is the perfect backdrop to set the scene for our latest mobile game creation," said Nicholas Sagau, Chief Product Officer of REV Media Group.

WAU Animation CEO Usamah Zaid Yasin added: "Based on our discussions with the game development team, we see REV Media Group's vision for Ejen Ali: Agents' Arena to be expanded as a competitive esports title, specifically for Ejen Ali fans in the younger target audience."

"We hope fans will continue to support Ejen Ali in this action-packed new media from beyond TV and cinema screens, while our dedicated production team is working hard to produce the next instalment in Ali's story," he said.

REV Media Group has plans to organise an esports tournament in the near future and encourages all fans to stay tuned for more details.
