#SHOWBIZ: 'Bisikan Dosa' set to thrill

FRESH off the success of bringing the first Islamic horror film 'Khong Khaek' from Thailand to Malaysian screens, Yusrych Global Sdn Bhd is gearing up to deliver another spine-chilling masterpiece.

The production company's latest venture, 'Bisikan Dosa' (Whispers of Sin), is a horror movie that promises to captivate audiences with its haunting story, stellar cast and eerie realism.

Directed by Faizul A. Rashid, 'Bisikan Dosa' features a star-studded line-up, including Uqasha Senrose, Sara Ali, Farid Kamil, Che Puan Juliana Evans, Sherry Merlis and Syazuwan Hassan.

Yusrych Global's producer, Yusry Makmor, said the inspiration for 'Bisikan Dosa' came from extensive research into the elements that made horror films resonate with audiences.

"'Bisikan Dosa' is the perfect script to transform into a cinematic experience. It taps into the deep-seated fears and beliefs that many still hold today," Yusry told 'Berita Harian'.

The film's narrative explores polytheistic practices and superstitions, such as 'mandi bunga' — rituals that remain surprisingly prevalent in modern society.

"These realistic themes added an extra layer of relatability and unease for viewers," Yusry said.

Supported by the National Film Development Corporation (Finas), along with strategic marketing partners Primeworks Studios (PWS) and Media Prima Bhd (MPB), 'Bisikan Dosa' is expected to make waves at the box office.

One of the film's standout features is its unexpected plot twists, which Yusry believes will keep audiences on the edge of their seats.

"Every scene has been meticulously crafted to surprise and scare viewers.

"The make-up effects are uniquely designed to bring the supernatural elements to life, and the actors' compelling performances ensure the story feels authentic and immersive."

Director Faizul A. Rashid echoes this sentiment, highlighting the effort invested in creating a film that's not just frightening but also deeply engaging.

"This is more than just a ghost story," Faizul said. "The narrative is layered and intriguing, drawing audiences in with its mystery and suspense.

"From the chilling horror scenes to the moments of revelation, we've worked hard to ensure it all leaves a lasting impression."

'Bisikan Dosa' follows the story of Sarimah, a woman seeking a fresh start in Kuala Lumpur after a series of devastating events.

Struggling to rebuild her life after the tragic death of her young child and her ex-husband's betrayal, Sarimah takes a job as a maid for Ayden's family.

However, her new role plunges her into a world of supernatural terror.

Haunted by the restless spirit of Ayden's late wife, Zara, Sarimah uncovers chilling secrets that threaten to unravel the fragile stability she's tried to rebuild.

The story combines emotional depth with paranormal thrills, making it a must-watch for fans of the genre.

Faizul said the cast underwent months of preparation before filming, including attending acting workshops and familiarising themselves with their characters.

"Their dedication is evident in every scene.

"Each actor brings a unique energy that enhances the film's dynamic and ensures that the story resonates on a deeper level," he said

'Bisikan Dosa' premieres in cinemas in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei today.
