#Showbiz: No gimmicks for me, says Farahdhiya

KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Farahdhiya believes a good song does not need unnecessary controversies in order to create publicity.

The 37-year-old artiste said while some singers might have no qualms creating controversies prior to releasing their new songs, she was against it.

"If you want to release a single, just do so. There is no need to create unnecessary uproar prior to the release date.

"If you are good singer, and know that you have a quality product, a simple song release would suffice. No problem," she said.

"There have been instances where gimmicks were created which only further embarrass the singers themselves. I will not do such a thing, and I don't need to.

"Being a straight-forward person, I prefer simplicity. Just release the single," said the singer who recently released Tewas, an electronic dance music (EDM) number.
