KUALA LUMPUR: Tickets for rock legend Wings' maiden concert in Dewan Filharmonik Petronas (DFP), KLCC, Jalan Ampang here, have been sold out in 15 minutes.
The July 15 concert's organiser Shirazadeen Karim of Shiraz Projects Sdn Bhd said that fans of the group with Datuk Awie as lead singer, snapped up the tickets as soon as sales began at 10am.
"That was really fast! This shows Malaysians just love Wings, and are coming out in full force to watch them perform at DFP for the very first time," said Shirazadeen in an interview with Harian Metro Online today.
Shirazadeen thanked Wings' fan club Sayap-Sayap Wings for promoting the concert aggressively on social media, as this helped create awareness amongst die-hard fans of the band.
"We are confident that with strong support from Malaysians, Wings' debut in the prestigious Dewan Filharmonik Petronas will be a concert to remember," said Shirazadeen.
He revealed that Wings which also comprised bassist Eddie, drummer Black, and guitarists Syam and Edrie Hashim were practising hard in preparation for their big day.
"They are totally committed to giving their best in the concert," he said, adding that Wings and Shiraz would make the concert a benchmark for all musical showcases.
Tickets for Wings' concert were priced RM650, RM375 and RM250.
