KUALA LUMPUR: Veteran actor Hisham Ahmad Tajuddin died at Shah Alam Hospital today. He was 76.
His daughter Aqeela Mohd Hisham, 26, shared the news via WhatsApp around 4.45pm and said that her father died at 4.30pm at the high-dependency unit of the hospital, where he had been warded since Sept 29.
"My father Hisham Ahmad Tajuddin passed away in his sleep at 4.30pm today. May his soul rest in peace," said Aqeela in her post.
Hisham had been suffering from a severe lung infection for more than a week, when he was hospitalised. He was placed under an induced coma and breathed with help from a ventilator.
Hisham, who was also a civil servant, first found fame in the early 1980s and starred in hundreds of television dramas and films.
Active until 2020, his best known films included Tsu Feh Sofiah, Wira Angkasa, Hanny, Putera and Black Maria, while his best known television dramas included Dalam Hati Ada Cinta, Tanah Kubur and Tok Ayah.
