KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian actor Henry Golding, who found fame in Hollywood after starring in Crazy Rich Asians has been named the ninth handsomest man in the world.
Irish entertainment magazine Joe reported recently that Golding finished ninth in a list of 10 male celebrities compiled by British plastic surgeon Dr Julian De Silva.
Actor Rege-Jean Page of Bridgerton fame topped the list with a score of 93.65 per cent. The percentage is based on the Golden Ratio which measures physical perfection.
Golding, 35, from Sarawak scored 87.98 per cent.
The others in the list included Chris Hemsworth (93.53 per cent), Chris Evans (91.9 per cent), George Clooney (89.91 per cent) and Dwayne Johnson (86.07 per cent).
In a series of Instagram posts, the doctor said that the data was compiled using "computerised mapping techniques".
"These techniques allow us to solve some of the mysteries of what it is that makes someone physically beautiful," he said.
Golding, 35, who is of British and Iban parentage, hails from Betong, Sarawak.
Growing up in the United Kingdom, he returned to Malaysia when he was 21, and began his entertainment career in 2009 when he co-hosted talk show The 8TV Quickie with actress Belinda Chee.
Besides Crazy Rich Asians, Golding has also starred in the films A Simple Favour, The Gentleman, Last Christmas, Snake Eyes and Pisau Cukur.
