#Showbiz: Syamsul asks public to pray for them, doesn't want to hurt Puteri Sarah anymore

KUALA LUMPUR: The Lower Syariah Court has set a new date of May 8 as a mention for the nusyuz (an act of disobedience) case filed by director and actor Syamsul Yusof against his first wife Puteri Sarah Liyana.

The 39-year-old artiste, who was accompanied by his syarie lawyer Azmi Mohd Rais, said that Puteri Sarah, 38, was not able to attend the mention today in Gombak, Selangor since she has work commitments overseas.

"I don't want to say much to avoid misunderstandings. In any case, pray for the best for us whether this ends well or not. Just pray for the best," he said in a BH Online report.

The Mat Kilau: Kebangkitan Pahlawan director also urged the public to pray for other fellow artistes who are also facing marital breakdowns.

"Pray not just for me but for my other fellow artistes as well since this seems to have become a trend.

"This is not a simple matter. This is about private lives and it does not look as good as most would expect. This is the reality of things.

"Pray for all of us," he said.

With regards to the decision of the conciliatory committee (JKP) on the divorce case this coming Monday, Syamsul said that he would accept whatever the outcome was.

"God-willing, I will ty to just accept the fact no matter what and hopefully, so will Puteri Sarah.

"I also don't want to come up with any more statements that would hurt Puteri Sarah. I hope things will be settled in a cordial manner," he said.

Syamsul was met at the Gombak Timur Lower Syariah Court when he arrived at 9.10am for the first mention of the nusyuz case against Puteri Sarah.

He filed the application for nusyuz at the court on March 21.
