#Showbiz: Scalpers selling Coldplay tickets more than double the price

KUALA LUMPUR: Some ticket scalpers are taking advantage of hardcore fans of Coldplay by reselling tickets to the British rock band's concert for more than double the price.

Checks on social media revealed that some unscrupulous individuals are purchasing more tickets than the needed amount only to resell them.

In fact, some of the tickets managed to be sold.

One user was selling four CAT 3 standing tickets (retail price is RM658 per ticket) for RM1,000 per ticket.

In about one hour, the user tweeted that all four tickets had been taken up.

Another user was selling two CAT 3 tickets for about RM2,000 which is almost double the price.

Some are selling CAT 3 for RM2,500 each.

One user was selling two "Ultimate Experience" tickets (retail price is at RM3,088 per ticket) for RM8,000 which is about a 50 per cent increase of the original price.

The user had said that they had to forgo since they would be outstation that day.

Checks also revealed that another was selling CAT 4 tickets (retail price RM498) for RM1,500 as the seller could not find a babysitter to watch after their children.

CAT 4 tickets are also being sold for RM950 by another user at Section 134.

The highly-anticipated concert dubbed Coldplay: Music Of The Spheres World Tour set to take place at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium on Nov 22, has seven categories of ticket prices.

Today is the exclusive presale session for CIMB cardholders.

The tickets are priced at RM228, RM398, RM498, RM598, RM658, RM758 and RM1,288.

Live Nation also unveiled three VIP packages going for RM3,088 (Ultimate Experience), RM2,108 (My Universe) and RM1,258 (Higher Power).

These include various merchandise and gifts, as well as a dedicated entrance to the venue, photo opportunities and backstage tours.

The general public will be able to purchase tickets beginning tomorrow from 10am.
