PETALING JAYA: Pop king Anuar Zain is marking four decades in music with style, and will entertain fans in a two-hour concert at Stadium Malawati, Shah Alam on Oct 28.
Anuar, 53, will give fans a "super treat" serenading them with all of his chart-topping songs and more in the 8.30pm Anuar Zain 40th Anniversary Concert.
Organised by JioBuddy, the concert will celebrate Anuar's illustrious musical career beginning from his debut as a child singer alongside Ellina Razak in the pop duo Anuar & Ellina back in 1983.
JioBuddy head Sean Ng said: "This concert will celebrate Anuar's immense contributions to Malaysian music and cement his status as a people's entertainer admired by Malaysians from all walks of life."
Anuar said that the coming concert dubbed AZ40 would be a grand sequel to his Anuar Zain 3 Decades Concert held at the same venue in 2013.
The singer will perform a total of 20 songs including medleys and might introduce guest artistes to the show.
"I hope we will have a wonderful night to remember. Beautiful memories were created in my last anniversary concert and I am confident that this one will be even better," said Anuar.
He said that Stadium Malawati, which can accommodate 6,500 people, was once again chosen as the concert venue as it brought back fond memories and furthermore he lives in the Selangor state capital.
The concert will be directed by Jennifer Thompson with Sze Wan as the music director, and she will lead a team of 25 experienced musicians.
Tickets are priced from RM188 to RM1,188 and will be available at www.jiotix.asia at 10am on July 12.
The concert was launched at JioSpace in Section 19 here today. It was attended by Anuar, Ng, Thompson and Sze Wan.
