#Showbiz: Vanessa Reynauld wows 'Sing! China' judges with flawless Mandarin song [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: Popular singer Vanessa Reynauld, 23, is currently in Shanghai, China representing Malaysia in the reality talent search Sing! China.

Vanessa uploaded a brief Instagram video of herself performing a Mandarin number to the applause of the show's best known coach Wakin Chau yesterday.

The video which has garnered over 12,000 views showed Vanessa, dressed in a pink T-shirt and grey trousers singing in flawless Mandarin to the applause of the coaches who also included Joker Xue, Wilber Pan and Henry Lau and audiences during the live show.

She received a standing ovation at the end of her performance and more than 400 netizens congratulated her, hoping that she would win the three-month competition.

In her caption to the video, Vanessa said: "Here is a little snippet of my performance. Hope you guys like it."


Among the netizens who applauded Vanessa were Malaysian Idol's first season champion Jaclyn Victor and One In A Million's first season champion Suki Low.

"Wow! This is amazing. So proud of you dearest Vanessa. All the best and God bless," said Jaclyn.

"Go Vanessa! You can do it," said Suki.

Last June, Klang-born Vanessa who is of Chinese-Indian parentage said that she was pursuing music lessons and participating in a project in China.

Vanessa, who studied Mandarin up to Standard Six, rose to fame after finishing second in the 2016 Water Cube Cup singing contest.

She beat 60 young singers from 42 other countries in the contest that focuses on overseas Chinese youths.

In 2015, Vanessa finished fourth in Astro reality talent search Ceria Popstar 3.

Vanessa won Best New Artiste in Anugerah Industri Muzik 2022.
