KUALA LUMPUR: A video of a local tour operator speaking Mandarin with Chinese tourists has gone viral, earning praise from netizens.
In a video posted on Instagram, the man can be seen fluently explaining the day's itinerary and assisting a female tourist with directions to local facilities.
The video also captures a humorous moment when a male tourist tries to negotiate a lower price for the tour.
"Tell him (tourist) to speak Malay first, then he will get a discount," user @eman6o6 joked.
"Most boatmen near Semporna are fluent in the Chinese language," said user @nadeyhalim
