KUALA LUMPUR: Hamdan Ramli, 54, of Senario fame, who was admitted to Hospital Sultanah Aminah in Johor Baru has been placed in a medically-induced coma to treat blood infection.
His daughter, Nur Natasya Umairah, 20, said that her father had been complaining of diarrhoea since yesterday.
"He was experiencing diarrhoea since yesterday, and his condition remained the same at 10am today.
"So, we took him to the hospital around 11am and the doctors took his blood sample."
"After waiting for four hours, my father complained of breathing difficulties and requested that I call the doctors to provide him with oxygen.
"After further examination, the doctors informed us that my father had to be admitted due to a high level of blood infection," she told BH Online.
However, Nur Natasya said her father was in stable condition, but was still uncertain on how long he would need to be placed in a medically-induced coma.
"Before this, my father was okay (no illness), but due to the blood infection, the doctors advised him to be admitted. My father also has low blood pressure, and his heart is weak.
"The doctors said that he is stable. Now, we are taking turns caring for him," she said.
At the same time, Nur Natasya appealed to the public to pray for her father's speedy recovery.
Yesterday, Hamdan, or his real name, Ahmad Hamdan Mohamed Ramli, visited Johor Baru with other members of Senario to perform at the Wonderful Night with Senariounion event slated for tonight.
Due to health issues that led to his hospitalisation, Nur Natasya announced that the event would proceed without her father.
