KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Bella Astillah has pulled out of filming for the OrangeTree Productions drama Terjerat (ensnared) made for the streaming platform iQIYI.
Harian Metro reported today that this was believed to be linked to the ongoing controversy involving her actor husband Aliff Aziz and actress Ruhainies being caught for khalwat (close proximity) in a luxury condominium, here last Saturday.
Bella said that her decision was finalised after a meeting with the Malay drama's producer Datuk Seri Jaspal yesterday.
"Before making this decision, I had a meetup with him first.
"He understood my situation and accepted the choice that I had made," she said.
Meanwhile, Bella took to Instagram to thank the drama's production crew for their cooperation.
"Thank you Datuk Seri Jaspal. Thank you for understanding. If it's the right time and there's rezeki, we will work together again," she said.
In the drama series, Bella's character steals her elder sister's (played by Ruhainies) husband (Fendy Bakry).
