#SHOWBIZ: Hafidz denies neglecting child support, ex-wife files police report claiming breach of trust

KUALA LUMPUR: Actor Hafidz Roshdi denied allegations by his ex-wife, Nurul Shuhada Mat Shukri, that he has failed to pay child support for their two children.

In recent Instagram Stories posts, the 30-year-old artiste relayed that he never failed to pay maintenance for his two kids Humairah, 7, and Umar, 4, since the divorce in February last year.

He even showed the transaction slips as proof.

"The allegation that I am negligent in paying mandatory child support is a disgusting lie.

"After my divorce last year, I have never neglected child support, but I only pay according to my ability due to not having any acting offers. I also just started working as a courier.

"Even if there are months that are missed, I would complete the alimony payment as soon as possible."

"I have full proof of the payment transactions. With this, I want to state that I still pay alimony and will continue to try to increase the mandatory alimony for the children without any objection and to avoid arrears," he said in a news report today.

When asked about the children's insurance premium payments, Hafidz said that he did pay for it before, but has yet to do so since May last year because he could not afford it.

Previously, Nurul Shuhada had demanded that the actor fulfill his responsibilities as a father to his children.

She claimed to have asked for child support personally but was ignored by Hafidz, causing her to speak out on social media.

Meanwhile, Nurul Shuhada had also filed a police report against him for alleged breach of trust and misuse of confidential court details at the Arau Police Headquarters in Perlis, today.

According to Berita Harian, the mother of two did so to prevent her name from being further tarnished.

"I am determined to take serious action regarding this matter because I have been silent for a long time. However, my patience has been tested. When I was silent, they disrespected me.

"So, I am not hesitating to take this matter to court to uphold the truth. What I am doing is for myself and the children," she said.

Nurul Shuhada added that she was disturbed by the actions of her ex-husband and his family.

"I received a message from an Instagram follower about a post by my ex-husband who has committed a breach of trust, and misused confidential court details and evidence related to the civil and syariah cases that are still under trial.

"This evidence is confidential and should only be between us and the court. He has also insulted my family's honour and threatened to humiliate me much worse.

"The provocation against me has affected my mental and physical wellbeing.

"I also received evidence that members of his family have defamed me on social media by sending direct messages to social media users who know me," she claimed.

Because of that, Nurul Shuhada said that she has had regular check-ups with the chief psychiatrist of Tuanku Fauziah Hospital in Kangar, Perlis.

Hafidz and Nurul Shuhada tied the knot on April 30, 2016. However, they divorced on July 27 July last year after going through a court process that received extensive media coverage.

Hafidz, who was a finalist in the talent search programme Hero Remaja 2011/2012, married Athira Yuhada in Glenmarie, Shah Alam on Dec 15 last year.
