#SHOWBIZ: Luqman Hafidz gives custody of daughter to ex-wife

KUALA LUMPUR: Ola Bola actor Luqman Hafidz, 32, has chosen to give custody of his four-year-old daughter Eve Laura Luqman to his former wife Nurul Atiqah Mad Apandi.

However, he will visit Eve Laura from time to time, and Nurul Atiqah has agreed to this.

"I've chosen to avoid getting tangled in child custody disputes. Our daughter is closer to her mother, so I've decided to let her stay with her mother," he said in a Harian Metro report yesterday.

"Child custody disputes are always a test for parents. They challenge us to think wisely and make decisions that reflect win-win situations."

Luqman, who will star in Teater Muzikal Puteri Hang Li Po at Encore Melaka from Oct 3 to 6, also said that he was "not in a hurry" to find Miss Right again.

"I'm a very busy man, at the moment I'm focusing 100 per cent on my acting career," he said, adding that he did not rule out finding love again "someday".

Luqman and Nurul Atiqah were married on March 20, 2020 and divorced in June 2022.

Luqman is best known for playing Harimau Malaya footballer Ahmad Ali in Ola Bola The Movie and Ola Bola The Musical. The character is modelled after legendary Sabahan footballer Datuk Hassan Sani.

In Teater Muzikal Puteri Hang Li Po, Luqman will play Sultan Mansur Shah of Melaka while singer-actress from Sarawak Dewi Liana will play the Chinese princess Hang Li Po who is presented to him as a bride by Ming Dynasty-ruled China.
