KUALA LUMPUR: Fashion designer Ezuwan Ismail is over the moon as the two special ensembles he created for Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin for her recent concert in Singapore had been praised by the singer's legion of fans, as well as Siti's husband Datuk Seri Khalid Jiwa.
In a Harian Metro report today, the 42-year-old designer said he was grateful to be chosen as one of the designers to prepare costumes for Siti's performance at the Konsert Fenomena: Siti Nurhaliza Live In Singapore 2024 last weekend.
"I'm very thankful for this collaboration and had a pleasant time working with Siti and her team, who had been very cooperative and easy to work with.
"Despite her stature and her vast experience in the entertainment industry, she remains humble, which made it easy for us to work together," said Ezuwan.
He added that among the challenges in making the costumes was the fact that he was also working on it remotely as he was away in Saudi Arabia to perform his pilgrimage.
As a designer, he was also aware of the limitations set by Siti for the clothes she would wear onstage.
"So when I presented my ideas during sketching and fitting sessions, I felt so relieved whenever she gave her approval."
Yesterday, Siti uploaded photos of her bedecked in all of the costumes she wore at the concert.
Two of them had been created by Ezuwan, namely an elegant purple dress and an beguiling ensemble made from songket.
The photos of the songket ensemble alone received more than 35,000 likes in just 24 hours.
