KUALA LUMPUR: Internationally acclaimed musician and composer AR Rahman who is in Malaysia for a fan meeting in conjunction with his upcoming concert met with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today.
The meeting which took place at the PM's office in the Parliament building saw Rahman expressing his admiration for Malaysia's rich cultural diversity and its vibrant arts scene.
According to a statement from concert organiser Star Planet, the Indian superstar highlighted the importance of cultural exchanges in fostering mutual understanding and strengthening bilateral relations between nations.
Rahman also discussed potential collaborations in the fields of music and arts that could further enhance cultural diplomacy between India and Malaysia.
The legendary artiste known for his groundbreaking contributions to music globally, continues to extend his influence far beyond the realm of entertainment.
Through his unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes, he has exemplified how music can transcend boundaries and uplift communities worldwide.
Rahman's meet-the-fans session, which took place at the Majestic International Convention Centre at Menara PGRM in Cheras yesterday, drew the close to 1,500 fans.
His mega concert is scheduled to take place at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, here at 8pm on July 27.
The A.R. Rahman Live in Kuala Lumpur 2024 event will showcase Rahman's iconic hits and beloved songs, enhanced by extraordinary visual and audio production.
Joining him on stage in July will be an exceptional lineup of singers, including Mano, Srinivas, Sri Rascol, Shweta Mohan, Shakthisree Gopalan, Blaaze, ADK, Ameen Rahman, Shubha Vedula, Shivang Sudhir Vaishnav, Hriday Deepak Gattani, and Bhavin Navin Pushkama.
