KUALA LUMPUR: Veteran comedian Sathiya is reportedly in a stable condition, and is expected to be discharged from Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) today, after suffering from a mild stroke.
In a Berita Harian report, the 60-year-old actor was taken to a clinic near his house in Setapak here yesterday, after complaining that he was feeling numb in his arm and leg.
The report also quoted his eldest daughter Vickynesawwry Nayar, 34, as saying that her father also lost the ability to balance his body while having breakfast yesterday.
"As he had suffered from a mild stroke before this, we panicked and quickly took him to a nearby clinic, where the medical team diagnosed him with hypotension.
"He was immediately referred to HKL and when we reached there, he was wheeled to the Red Zone.
"Fortunately he is stable now and is expected to be discharged today," she said.
Sathiya is famously known for his character Ravi the driving instructor in the popular 1990's sitcom 'Pi Mai Pi Mai Tang Tu.'
