KUALA LUMPUR: Popular comedian and actor Ebby Yus, who is currently suffering from heart and kidney problems, is currently in a stable condition as he no longer works and just rests at home.
The 59-year-old artiste said that although he still receives job offers and was recently approached to do a TV programme, he had to turn it down.
"I couldn't do the TV programme because it involved strenuous activities. In my current state of health, I really can't do strenuous physical activities anymore," he said in a Harian Metro report today.
Ebby, whose real name is Muhammad Yunus Abdul Rashid, added that he can't stand for a long time and has trouble going up stairs.
"So, let me just rest at home for now. Thank God, my health is stable. Even though I want to work, if the offer is not suitable, I have to reject it," he said.
Ebby added that his next appointment at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) for a kidney check-up will be in September.
"My hope is for my kidneys to be in relatively good condition so that I will not require dialysis treatment like how the doctor had advised me before.
"But everything will depend on the examination report with the specialist doctor after the check-up in September.
"So, if the doctor says it's unavoidable, I will do it anyway. However, I hope it doesn't happen and my kidneys are in a stable condition," he said.
Last year, Ebby was admitted to HKL's Intensive Care Unit (ICU) due to health problems where the doctor had also told him that his heart strength was only at about 27 per cent.
Aside from that, Ebby is also suffering from damaged kidneys and can only drink 500 millilitres of water a day.
