KUALA LUMPUR: Director and actor, Muhammad Pierre Andre Nazarul Andre a.k.a. Pierre Andre, admits he feels very at ease with the absence of mobile phones and social media accounts which are now a necessity for everyone.
The 39-year-old artiste said that his wife, Siti Nur Hidayah Hashim, also his manager, can be contacted for all work and family matters.
"I haven't had my own (mobile) phone in a long time because I'm calmer and less stressed. Likewise, I don't have any social media accounts," he said in a Harian Metro report yesterday.
Pierre added that he prioritises his peace of mind which is at its peak when he goes without using a mobile phone.
"If I want to look at current issues, I usually look at it on my wife's phone. I am aware of all the developments that are happening, I just don't put myself on social media.
"I prefer to be humble because my manager is also my wife. It's enough to simplify work management and contact her (wife) to get to me," he said.
After staying under the radar of the entertainment industry for a decade, Pierre said that he is now used to living a life like ordinary people who are free to go anywhere without being recognised in public.
"I'm now focusing a lot on the clothing business that I'm working on. From someone who only knew about movies before, I've expanded my knowledge to fabrics because my wife and I have a business selling clothes.
"I also have my own YouTube channel. So, that's what I've been doing for the past 10 years, including focusing on raising two children," he said.
Pierre married Siti Nur Hidayah in June 2013 and they have two children, Aishah Andre, 8, and 2-year-old Zehra Andre.
