#SHOWBIZ: Actor and artist Imuda now a 'Datuk'

KUALA LUMPUR: Actor, comedian and painter, Imuda, has been awarded the Darjah Setia Pangkuan Negeri, which carries the title 'Datuk'.

The 65-year-old, whose real name is A Rahim Muda, was among the 103 recipients on the honour list, in conjunction with the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak's 75th birthday, yesterday.

"I am very proud to receive this award from the TYT of Penang. After being involved in the entertainment industry for 40 years, this is the time and moment to celebrate success.

"Not just for myself, but for all other artists in Penang," he said.

Imuda began his career as an illustrator with a local publishing company before branching out to work with Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka.

His works were widely published in magazines such as Gila-Gila, Berita Minggu, and Gelihati.

Throughout his career in the arts, besides being popular in local comedy series, Imuda has starred in numerous hit films.

Among them are Mekanik, Kembara Seniman Jalanan, Hati Bukan Kristal, Mat Gelap, Mat Som, and many more.
