#SHOWBIZ: Saari Amri's children stay with him

COMPOSER Saari Amri, 58, does not allow his four children to live alone.

Even though all his children are aged between 30 and 22, and are capable of being independent, Saari, whose real name is Saari Jusoh, said he is more comfortable with them living with him.

"I will only allow them to leave the house and live on their own when each of them is married. But as long as they haven't met their soul mate, let them live with me and my wife first.

"Right now, I also find life out there very dangerous and quite risky because almost every day there are news reports of people going missing and being murdered. I don't feel safe," he said in a recent report.

The 'Gerimis Mengundang' and 'Mengintai Dari Tirai Kamar' composer tied the knot with Senorita Abdul Rahman in 1993 and the couple have four children, namely Mohd Fitri Amri, 30, Iraas Irmarita, 29, Iraas Marliany, 25, and Amri Farizuan, 22.

In terms of marriage for his children, Saari said he left it to God.

"None of my children currently have any love interests, even though two are already working while the other two are still at university.

"What is certain is that I am happy when I see the children in front of me. I don't care about what people say because they are my children and this is my little family," he said.

Saari added that he does not allow his children to ride motorbikes and is more at ease seeing them go to work and attend university lectures by car.

"I once experienced a serious motorbike accident and almost lost my life in 1996. So, I don't want my children to go through that and I feel that driving a car is much safer for them," he said.

That unfortunate incident 28 years ago saw Saari, who was riding a high-powered Ducati motorbike, getting into an accident with a lorry at a traffic light intersection near a hotel in Ampang.

He was treated for 21 days in a hospital after being in a coma and admitted that the experience was like being "dead and brought back to life".
