KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Geraldine Gan sustained a minor injury on her arm after her power bank exploded inside her handbag.
Gan said in an Instagram Story last Wednesday that she never expected something like that to happen.
Her post contained photos of a burnt wallet, charred bank cards and a hole in her handbag.
"I dare not think what would've happened if I had placed the power bank directly on my mattress, in a wardrobe full of clothes or in a room filled with pillows. It would have been unimaginable," she said.
The 33-year-old singer also assured her fans that the injury was a minor burn.
"I wasn't even using it when it exploded. It did not show any visible signs of swelling or damage either."
Gan, who rose to fame after winning the Astro Star Quest 2011 competition, hoped that everyone would be more careful when using power banks.
