#SHOWBIZ: Nabila Razali to promote Taiwan to fellow Muslim Malaysians

KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Nabila Razali has recently been announced as the 2024 Malaysian Muslim Ambassador for Taiwan.

In a statement released yesterday, the appointment of the 31-year-old artiste who has over 3.5 million followers on social media, is part of the efforts to establish Taiwan as a top travel destination for Muslim tourists and to boost the number of Malaysian visitors, said Taiwan Tourism Administration's deputy director-general Chou Ting-chang in the statement.

It was announced during the recent launch of the new travel promotional video 'Jom Taiwan!' which aims at inviting travellers to explore the rich and diverse experiences Taiwan has to offer.

"It's an honour to be appointed for this campaign," said Nabila, who also visited the country twice to film the promotional video.

"In the video, I also had the opportunity of sharing my travel experience in Taiwan, such as being warmly welcomed by the hospitable people there, and enjoying the beautiful natural landscapes throughout the country, from majestic mountains to the azure sea."

During her visits, Nabila also explored a variety of the island's iconic attractions, namely the dramatic landscapes of Bitou Cape on the Northeast Coast, the hydrangea fields of Yangmingshan, the nostalgic ambiance of Jingtong Station on the Pingxi Line, as well as the various theme parks.

She also had the chance to sample Taiwanese Muslim delicacies and enjoyed a hands-on experience making traditional Hakka 'lei cha' (ground tea).

As an outdoor sports enthusiast, Nabila enjoyed biking along the picturesque Tanya Shen Green Bikeway in Taichung.

Chou underscored the strong connections between Malaysia and Taiwan, particularly highlighting Malaysia as a key market for promoting Muslim tourism.

Since 2018, Taiwan Tourism Administration has been building the 'Salam Taiwan' brand in the Malaysian Muslim market, tailoring an image of Taiwan as a welcoming travel destination, which has now firmly taken root in the hearts of Muslim travellers.

Also launched was an all-new Muslim Travel Guide and the '72 Hours In Taiwan' voting campaign, which encourages Malaysian residents to visit the website (https://72jamditaiwan.my) and vote for their preferred Taiwan travel itinerary.
